Domingo R. Rodriguez

Domingo R. Rodriguez passed away peacefully at Lansing Sparrow Hospital on May 28, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Domingo was born in Goliad County, Texas on December 11, 1932 to Pedro and Josefa Reina Rodriguez.  He married his sweetheart Tomasita on October 8, 1957.  He was a devoted husband, loving father, amazing grandfather and great grandfather, and a good friend to all.

He started working at the age of 8 or 9 in the fields and later at Wolverine Shoe Factory for 25 years until the time of its closing.  From there he went to The North Star Golf Course and worked there for 25 years.  He retired at the age of 80.  He never knew how to stop working;  he loved being in the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and yard work.  He loved watching wrestling;  he would cancel his outing just to watch his wrestling show.  But playing his guitar was his passion along with singing.  He always had a good story to tell or joke to make us laugh.  He loved all his grandkids and great grandkids more than anyone knew.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Tomasita Rodriguez of Ithaca; two sons: Joseph Lee Rodriguez and Ricky (Christine) Rodriguez of Clearmont Florida; two daughters: Sylvia (Paulino) Perdomo of St Louis and Anjelita (Matthew) Bradley of Riverdale.  He is also survived by one brother and three sisters, 10 grandkids, 23 great grandkids, many cousins and more friends that we can even imagine….

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, with Father Dwyer officiating.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Barden Funeral Home, with a rosary starting at 6 pm.  Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Alma, Michigan.  Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.

He was a FRIEND to all………….
