Andrew Relyea Wheeler

ANDREW RELYEA WHEELER, age 34, passed away Tuesday, December 15th in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.  Andy is the son of Robert & Nancy Wheeler and was born Sept 4, 1981 in Alma, Michigan. He lived in Mt. Pleasant for most of his life.  Andy is survived by his parents; his sister Christianne (Matthew) Marshall of Farmington Hills, Michigan; his brother Adam Wheeler of Los Angeles, California; nephews Riley, Jonah and Elijah Marshall; along with a loving extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andy made friends wherever he went and was known for being friendly and outgoing.  He was academically successful and loved sports. He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and Central Michigan University with a Bachelors in Business Entrepreneurship and Spanish. During college, he served for 2 years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California among Spanish speaking people. He loved the people there and the Spanish language.  After college, he worked for several firms in Mt. Pleasant doing corporate sales and marketing.  Among other things, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club.

The most important things to Andy were the people in his life: his friends and family.  Friends said about him: “Andy is the guy who cared endlessly, feared nothing, loved unconditionally, and always had the best hair….Andy had lots of smiles and caring words about others, never a mean bone in his body….he had great manicured hair and a smile that could change the world…..Andy was there to offer words of encouragement when needed…he touched so many lives…he will be missed to the moon and back.”

All are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, December 18th at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1404 S. Crawford Road. Visitation will be at 10 am prior to the service at the Church.  Arrangements are being handled by the Barden Funeral Home.  Because Andy had a deep capacity for kindness and helpfulness, memorials may be made to the Andy Wheeler Community Needs Fund at the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
