Robert ‘Bob’ Lewis Chenoweth

Robert ‘Bob’ Lewis Chenoweth, 89, of Stanton, went to heaven on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Bob was born in Manton, Michigan on April 18,1932 to Howard A. and Ellen (Kibbe) Chenoweth. On January 19, 1952, he married Lois M. Klingbeil in Arizona. Lois preceded him in death October 7, 2020.

Bob worked hard,  starting at age 17 as a salesman, farm worker, manager, State of MI employee, and was a self employed refrigeration and air conditioning man. He also worked for Farm Bureau Insurance, American United, and Jackson National Life Insurance.  He was part owner in the Canadian Gold Rock hunting and fishing lodge, Realtor for Millard’s Realty and then owned Chenoweth Realty in Stanton.  

Bob was dedicated to his family, his Church, and his Community.  Bob and Lois were members of Trinity Church since 1962 when they moved to Stanton. Bob was President of Central MI Assoc. of Life Underwriters, Stanton City Council Member, Mayor of Stanton, Stanton Zoning Board Member, Montcalm Co. Building Authority Board Member, Member of the Montcalm Co. Board of Realtors, the Stanton Jaycees, and the Lions Club. 

Bob is survived by his 2 children, Jane (Randy) Nielsen and John (Teresa) Chenoweth; 8 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother Orman (Charlotte) Chenoweth; his sisters-in-law Patricia Mannor and Bonnie Klingbeil; and many nieces and nephews & friends. 

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lois; parents Howard Chenoweth, Ellen & Lowern Goldsmith, his in-laws Clarence & Myrtle (Chandler) Klingbeil and Irene Klingbeil. His brothers in law Howard Klingbeil and Arvid Mannor. His brothers & sisters in laws; Ray and Kathryn Klingbeil, Arnold & Margaret Klingbeil, Leo & Maxine Klingbeil, Merle & Roberta Klingbeil, His sister & brother in law Arlene & William Romsec. 

A memorial service honoring Bob will be held at 11am, March 25, 2022 at Trinity Church in Stanton with Pastor Mark Edwards officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Church. 

The family is being served by the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.

To the family - I worked in Bob's real estate office and knew him as a very fair,honest individual personally and in his real estate business. I am very sorry to learn of his passing. Treasure memories of him.

Condolences from Vera McLeod and family. It was so nice to see you and Lois at our Kibbe reunion in Manton a few years ago!
Mom passed November 5th 2015.
