I had the good fortune of working with Alden for decades at MLC. He taught many people the importance of hard work and honesty at work and in life. We always had great respect for one another.

Our families have been together for over 70 years, and hope to continue for many more. As a young Boy (8-10) I was allowed to ride with Alden on the lift as he built loads the he would deliver later in the day. I was able to ride in the big truck with Alden, even today, 50 years later, i remember the excitement to be riding along side in the Semi. Alden loved his work and the industry he was apart of. He was respected by all that spoke with and those he met, They all new of his knowledge and experience. Alden taught me a wide variety of important life lessons.....and a little bit about lumber. He is a big part of the long History at Michigan Lumber and will be missed, and always remembered.

Alden (Tom) Howay, families, and Verona,
I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve known you both many years and I mourn with you. I will miss his banter and making copies of his genealogy papers to send out to family. God bless you❣️
