Garold Ray Baker, age 92, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw with his family by his side. Garold was born in North Star, Michigan on July 24, 1929, the son of Ray and Beatrice Baker and grew up in Ithaca, Michigan where he graduated from Ithaca High School. He was an avid deer hunter and never came home empty-handed. He was on the ski patrol at Snow Snake Mountain. He was also a boater and enjoyed waterskiing and he was usually in the water before the ice was gone from the lake.

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Gerald. From swimming while it was snowing, riding on the firetruck in a parade, making snowballs out of hail and keeping them in his freezer. I will always think of him with a smile on my face. I know he is in heaven with all of our families who are already there.
I am sorry I cannot be there to pay my respects but I am with you all in spirit. Love you guys, and love you Uncle Gerald.

On behalf of the many Seniors at Ithaca Food With Friends and the Senior Activity Building, please accept our sympathy in the death of our friend, Gerald. For many years, Gerald and Clara Boyer enjoyed playing Euchre, partaking of many activities, and volunteering to help wherever they could. We have fond memories and still hear stories about them. Gerald has left us with happy memories.
With caring thoughts,
Jo Jones
