Norm was ordained a minister on February 2, 2005 at Amazing Grace Church by Dr. Richard Jolliff. His heart was to let others know that Jesus Christ loves them and wants to be Lord of their lives. He ministered many years, not only in churches, but also in jails, prisons and on dozens of work missions in Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, and in the U.S.

He loved being with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved camping in his motor home across the USA. Norm retired from General Motors in 1985. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nancy, 7 children: Ann (Steve) McNair of Charlotte, Susan (Dr. Paul) Worley of Ithaca, Laurie Thurman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana , Jim Gross of Ithaca, Susan (Andy) Grosnickel of Potterville, Bob (Jessica) Gross of Fowlerville and Angie (Fred) Szelag of Mt. Pleasant, 13 grand-children, 9 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Janice (Harold) Hinton of Middleton and Jane Allen of Bangor, Maine; and his brother, Leland Charles (Mary Ellen) Wood of Middleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 36 years, Adona, and his brother-in-law, Pastor Max Allen.

There will be a memorial service on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Amazing Grace Church, Wheeler, with Dr. Richard Jolliff officiating. Burial will be at a later date in North Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Memorial contributions may be made to Amazing Grace Church.
