Robert Larry Silsbury

Robert L. Silsbury, age 65, of Saginaw, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at his home.

Bob was born April 19, 1953, in Alma, the son of Malcolm Rex and Donella Ilene (Lott) Silsbury.  He graduated from Ithaca High School in 1971, and served in the Coast Guard.  He married Penny Susan Marsh in Breckenridge on January 25, 1974.  

Bob worked for the Michigan State Corrections, and had been assigned in Ionia, Carson City and St. Louis.  He retired in 2011.  He enjoyed helping the National Wild Turkey Federation with Jake’s Event each year.  He loved fishing and camping with his family, and was a craftsman, making walking sticks, paddles, and signs.

Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Penny; his children, Matthew (Breanne) Silsbury of Gaylord, Leslie King of Roseville, CA, and Sean (Charlotte) Silsbury of Pompeii; 7 grandchildren; his brother, David (Lisa) Silsbury of Portland, MI; his nephew, Ronald Coleman of Arizona; and his niece, Macey.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Letha Coleman.

My sincerest condolences to Bob's family. He was a classmate and friend, and I will miss seeing him at our get-togethers. He was always a wonderful addition to our little Class of 1971 family!

Penny and FAMILY.. So sorry for your loss. I can't remember how many years Bob and I have been good friends. All of the years of golfing together.. the early years of hanging out with his Mom and Dad ..They always treated me like I was FAMILY. And of course the Teen years..Drinking Beers and spotting Deer. My heart is sadden by Bob's passing. So many great memories. I'm praying for you all.
