Randy Lynn Goward

Randy Lynn Goward, age 62 of North Star, passed away January 14, 2018 at his home.

Randy was born September 30, 1955 to Alfred Harry and Beverly Althea (Dougherty) Goward in Alma, Michigan. Randy married Staria Mae Fetters July 13, 1985.

Randy had many talents. At age 16 he was in a band. He worked for Pizza Sam’s, Taco Bell, and Domino’s Pizza and while working for these establishments, he also established and ran his own business - Gowie’s Photography. Randy was always active in his son’s activities, and volunteered in the community as a leader for Tiger Cubs and Boy Scouts, and also as a coach for ball games.

Randy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Staria; his son Randy Goward II; his adopted pet/daughter Sadie; sister Janet Breski of Boise, ID; brother Craig (Carol) Goward of North Star; numerous nieces and nephews; and two grand nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Randy will be 11am Friday January 19, 2018 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Pastor Randy Hersey will officiate and burial will follow at North Star Cemetery. Visitation for Randy will be 2-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.

May God bless and comfort you as you grieve the loss of Randy. I have such fond memories of Randy’s participation in the Head Start program as a classroom volunteer and Policy Council member. He helped us make important decisions, such as sitting in on numerous interviews to select staff. Randy was very important to the Head Start program and I am thankful for his service to the community in this way. Rest In Peace, friend.
