William Brasure Taylor, age 94 of Alma passed away on July 2, 2017.  He was born on January 17, 1923, son of Frank Wilmore Taylor and Helen Brasure Taylor of Ridgley, Maryland.

Bill was attending the University of Maryland when he was drafted to serve in the Army during WWII and where he returned after his discharge, to complete his degree in Dairy Husbandry.  After graduation he took a job with the Pet Milk Company as a dairy field man in Michigan where he met and married Rose Marie Jorgensen with whom he had two daughters, Susan and Linda.

He was a lifelong Mason and regularly visited acquaintances   residing at  Masonic Pathways before becoming a resident in 2009 until his death.  He enjoyed sailing on Higgins Lake, traveling and corresponding with family and friends.  In his later years he was a prolific letter writer.

Surviving is his wife, Rose Marie, daughters, Susan Taylor (Waino Pihl) of Ithaca, Linda Taylor of Lansing, Grandchildren Anne Pouch (Aaron) of Dewitt, Hugh MacDowell of Farmington Hills, Kari and Dane Pihl of Ithaca and Great Granddaughter Elizabeth Larson.

Our prayers are with you Marie, Susan, and Linda. We have so many wonderful memories of your entire family from when we were growing up and Bill and my dad (Loren Brown) worked together. Bill was such a great example of a man putting his family first!!! May God comfort you during this time.

Sending our love and prayers to you Aunt Marie, Susan, Waino and Linda. Uncle Bill was one of a kind. Always smiling and with such varied interests. I remember when he decided to learn to play piano in retirement and how proud he was to play something for us. We will always remember his great sense of humor and his laugh. He will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss of Bill. Even though death has become a "normal" part of our life, we just never seem to get used to it. In fact, God's Word refers to death as an enemy in 1 Corinthians 5:26- It is comforting to know that very soon our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah, will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on earth. I wish the very best for your family at this difficult time, take care.
