Ronald L. Stoner
Ronald L. Stoner, age 73, of Ithaca, died Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.
Ron was born September 1, 1943, in Alma, the son of Lynn and Genevieve (Dunneback) Stoner. He attended Ithaca High School, graduating in 1962. Through school he enjoyed participating in sports, playing basketball in jr. high and lettering in golf in high school. After high school, Ron enlisted in the Air Force, serving his country for 4 years, being stationed 2 years in Montana and 1 1/2 years in the Philippines. In 1967 Ron went to barber college, and then worked in Lansing for 3 years, returning to Ithaca in 1970 and worked 9 more years as a barber. Ron then went to work for Alma Products for 25 years, retiring in 2005 on an early retirement at age 60. Ron liked to bowl, and rolled his first 300 game in October 1991 at Highland Lanes in Alma. Ron loved being outdoors and could always be seen walking or riding his bicycle around town. Ron also loved to travel.
Ron is survived by his brother, Greg (Jill) Stoner of Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Joan and Betty; an older brother, Freddie; his grandmother, Marguerite Dunneback; his nephew, Rusty; 3 uncles and 2 aunts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Ithaca at 11 a.m. Monday, June 12. Interment will follow in Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday, June 11, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.

I'll never forget sending time with him out at the car dealership and hearing him telling me how I was drinking mine "wrong" He never gave up a chance to pick on me and I loved it.
