Robert Dean Taylor

Robert Dean Taylor, age 79, of Ithaca, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma.

He was born on January 1, 1938 in Ithaca, the son of Rex Anson and Eleanor Marie (Graves) Taylor.  He married Reaneta May McCormick on July 12, 1957.  He retired from Alma Products Company in 2000 after 36 years of dedicated service. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting coins and guns.   He loved to sit at the table drinking coffee and watching the birds and wildlife from the kitchen window.

He is survived by his wife, Reaneta; his children, Teresa (Jerry) Abell of Ithaca, Rodney (Lorrie) Taylor of Riverdale, and Randall (Dana) Taylor of Ithaca; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and he was looking forward to the birth of his third great grandchild in September.  He was preceded in death by his son Russell Dean Taylor, his parents, and his brother and sisters Barbara (Dolly) Hustin, Marilyn Smith, and Lyle Bouchey.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 11:00 am at  Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Pastor Carlton Cecil officiating.  Burial will be in the Ithaca Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  In lieu of memorial contributions in Bob’s memory, please plant a tree.  Condolences may be left for the family online at www.bardenfuneralhome.com.

I will never forget the stories my dad told about him and Bobby Taylor growing up and now they are in heaven reliving all of them! RIP BOBBY

I am sorry for your the loss of your dear Robert. May you find comfort in the promise recorded for us at Isaiah 25:8 where it says "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." Until that time, continue to draw strength from God, family and friends. All the best wishes for your family at this time, take care.
