Lavona J. Lott

Lavona Lott, age 81, of Ithaca, died January 7, 2016, at Laurels of Fulton.

Lavona was born January 6, 1935, in Alma, the daughter of Loyal and Clara M. (Ebright) Marcham.  She resided most of her life in Ithaca.  She married Donald C. Lott of Crystal, MI, on March 14, 1953.  He preceded her in death on March 3, 1997.

Lavona started working in food service in 1959, and began foster care in 1966, in which she worked for over three decades.  She loved her flower gardens, decorating cakes for graduations, weddings, and birthdays, and had a love for poodles and bird watching.

Lavona is survived by her children, Lorna (Marty) Derry, Martin (Jill) Lott, Debra (Gary) Pringle, Robert (Carol) Lott, and Robin (Gary) Malson; her sisters, Clover (LeRoy) Spitzley and Pauline Welch; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Annjanette Johnson, and her sister, Mildred Matthews.

Funeral services will be 11 a,m, Monday, January 11, at the Ithaca church of God, with Pastor Tom Whitesel officiating.  Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery, Crystal, MI.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 10, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca Church of God.
