Roger A. “Bud” Howes, age 79 of Ashley passed away February 6, 2017 at Carson City Hospital.
Roger was born July 7, 1937 to William Henry and Zella Birdella (Flegel) Howes in Ithaca, Michigan. He married Joan Studt February 18, 1978. Roger was a great athlete in high school. He enjoyed family get togethers and playing cards at the fire hall. He also enjoyed flowers and spending time outdoors tending his flowers. He loved model trains and had a collection in his basement. He was known for his good nature and great sense of humor. Roger deeply loved his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife, Joan; children Tammy (Dave) Kimmel of Ashley, Buddy (Liz) Howes of St. Johns, Charlie (Amy) Howes of St. Johns, Debbie (Jim) Galloway of St. Johns, Bob (Jodi) Studt of Ashley; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters Karolyn Hoffman of Mt. Pleasant and Kathy (Tom) Kanitz of Centerville, Ohio; and brother Stan Howes of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Haruska; parents Bill and Zella; brothers George and Bill Howes; and sister Annie Hamp.
Funeral services for Roger will be 11am Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Pastor Phil Harris will officiate and burial will follow at North Star Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8pm Thursday, February 9 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Village of Ashley Country Christmas Fund.
