Delphine Rae Lippert, 92, formerly of Ithaca, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 at home with family in Rothbury, Michigan. Her home-going celebration will be on Saturday, November 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Oasis Community Church, 1250 E. Washington Road, in Ithaca. Burial will be at the Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 25, at Oasis Community Church from 4-8 p.m.
Delphine was born in rural Gratiot County on August 19, 1924, daughter of Vera and Forrest Mitchell. She graduated from Ashley High School in 1942. On October 26, 1944, she married R.J. Lippert ( who preceded her in death) in a home wedding near Bannister, MI. Delphine was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She worked at Ithaca High School for 20 years feeding hungry kids. She was a member of Resurrection Life Church, and was active in Women’s Aglow International and Kindred Hearts. She loved the Lord, and her life was an excellent testimony to her faith.
She is survived by her children: Roger of Blanco, Tx, Kathy (Richard) Howe of Rothbury, MI, Denise (Dennis) Kirkby of Charlevoix, MI, Phillip of Charlevoix, MI, Jennifer (Tim) Weaver of Perrinton, MI., 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grand children.
