Howard “Wink” K. Rice, age 55, of Ithaca, died suddenly March 13, 2012, at his home.
Howard was born April 2, 1956, in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of Howard C. and Dorothy L. (Pence) Rice. He was a long time member of A.B.A.T.E. and governor of the St. Louis Moose Lodge, where he was a volunteer. He was devoted to helping others and was an excellent mechanic, who could fix almost anything. Howard was an avid Harley rider and enjoyed going out to Sturgis.
Howard is survived by his beautiful daughter, Angel K. Rice, whom he loved with all his heart; his amazing friend, Linda Murgittroyd; his brothers, Harold K. Rice and David B. (Paula) Rice; his sister, Elizabeth; his nieces and nephews Corey J. (Jamie) Rice, Cody A. (David) Huckins, Jed, Taylor, and Ben; and great nieces and nephews Tayvin, Jayce, Kayleigh, and Chloe. He was preceded in death by his parents
There will be a memorial service and meal, 2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the Moose Lodge in St. Louis. Come as you are. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 16, and 1-3pm Saturday, March 17 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Lodge Moose Heart Children’s Fund.
