Margarette T. Ladd, age 90, of Saginaw, formerly of Ithaca, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, at her home.

Margarette was born September 22, 1921, in Marion Springs, the daughter of Edward and Alivine (Keinitz) Morbitzer. She married Leon (Dick) Ladd on April 16, 1941 in Ithaca. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2001. 

Margarette was very active in the Ithaca Senior Activity Building. She enjoyed playing euchre with others at the senior center and friends in the park where she lived. She also loved to bake, and while she baked many things, she took great pleasure in baking her banana nut bread and giving it all away to friends and family.

Margarette is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers and sisters, Elnora Burk, Ed Morbitzer, Frank Morbitzer, Helen Derry, and Anna McGinty.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, october 18, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Jo Jones officiating. Interment will follow in North Star Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 17, at Barden Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca Senior Activity Building.
