Madolyn M. Moon


Madolyn Moon, age 97, of Stanton, went home to join her Lord on January 27, 2019.

Madolyn was born in Alma, Michigan, and raised in Stanton, where she met and married Alton Moon in 1942.  They were married 60 years before his death in 2002.  Madolyn and Alton had 7 children.  As well as caring for  her family, Madolyn worked for and retired from Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons, Michigan.

Madolyn was a supporting member of Evangelical Free Church in Stanton since the early 1960’s.  She enjoyed yard sales and purchasing infant and toddler items to give to the Baby Pantry of Stanton.  She was also a lifetime member of the VFW.  She loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, and making clothes for her children and husband.  Additionally, she loved to garden and can food for her family.  After retirement, Madolyn and Alton liked to spend long summers in Canada, fishing and making friends.  Following Alton’s death, she liked to spend time in summers on her mower, mowing her yard and gardening.

Madolyn was one of eight children; with 3 brothers, three sisters, and one step brother.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton; 4 daughters; 2 sons; 2 sisters; 1 brother; her step brother;  a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law.  She is survived by her son, Norman Moon, and dog, Betsy, of Stanton; two brothers, one sister, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Trinity
Evangelical Free Church in Stanton, with Pastor Mark Edwards officiating.  Interment will follow in McBride Cemetery.  Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 1, at the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Madolyn's name to your choice of the following charities; American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Evangelical Free Church of Stanton, Mel Trotter Ministries of Grand Rapids, Michigan, or St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.

Dear Norm, you should have no regrets, you did a wonderful job of being a much loved son. May God fill the loneliness that your mama will leave. Miss you!
