Shirley Ann Rose, age 69, of Ithaca, died Monday, August 13, 2018 at Ashley Care Center, with her family at her side.
Shirley was born in Alma on September 13, 1948, the daughter of Marvin Duane and Georgiana Mae (Howell) Bish. She married Clyde Duane Rose on February 4, 1967. She worked at Precision Plastics in Ithaca and in housekeeping at Gratiot Medical Center.
Shirley was a hard worker. She enjoyed her flowers, planting her garden around her pond and her roses. She especially enjoyed Halloween, going to garage sales, and collecting pens. If you put a pen down, she collected it. Shirley loved her family, her children and grandchildren. They meant the most to her.
Shirley is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Clyde; her children, Melinda (Wyatt) Hintermister of Coleman, Brian Rose of Ithaca, Machelle (William) Evans of Stanton, and Jeremy (Cayli) Rose of Alma;
7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and her brother, Dale (Zeda) Bish of Riverdale. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Gail Terwilliger and Marilyn Alderett.
Funeral services for Shirley will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Pastor Nathan Workman officiating. Interment will follow in Ithaca Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, at the Barden Funeral Home.
