William Walter Thorne, age 84, died July 9, 2018 in Ithaca, Michigan.
Bill was born in Grove City, PA, the son of William Grant and Doris (Chapel) Thorne. He graduated from Grove City High School and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree from Grove City College. He was a Chemical Engineer and worked many years for Michigan Chemical (Velsicol) in St Louis, Mich and retired from Martin Marietta in Woodville, Ohio.
Bill is survived by his son, William Kenneth Thorne (Candy) of White Cloud, his daughters Patrice Johnson of Ithaca, and Amy Kruse of Louisiville, KY, his sister Judy Thorne Nemet (John) of Clintonville, PA and seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Eileen Brunson; and his brother, Robert Thorne of Grove City.
Visitation will be at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca on Wednesday, July 11 from 6-8pm with a service on Thursday from 10-11am. A burial service will take place at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Grove City, PA on Saturday, July 14 at 10am.
