Jack Burlingame

 

Jack Burlingame, 78, formerly of Ashley Michigan, passed away June 11, 2018 at his Guthrie Lake home in Northern Michigan.

A memorial service will be held on June 14, 2018 at 11:00 at Barden’s Funeral Home in Ithaca Michigan with Pastor Dan Bowman officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following at the Ashley Methodist Church. Family will receive family and friends at visitation on June 13th from 5-8 at Barden’s.

Jack was born to Alden and Gladys (Peters) Burlingame of Ashley Michigan on July 29, 1939.

He spent all of his early years on the family farm in Gratiot County and graduated from Ashley High School in 1958.

Jack married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Cumberworth, on June 18, 1960 and together they raised four children.

Jack worked 40+ years at Lobdell Emery/Oxford Automotive until he retired at the age of 62. Jack and Sharon enjoyed traveling after retirement and eventually settled near Gulf Shores Alabama during the winter months.

Jack was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and golfing. Some of the most precious memories of his children and grandchildren include time spent sharing these activities with him.

Jack is survived by his wife Sharon, children: Kathi (Jim) Sali, Mike (Lynne) Burlingame, Karin (Tim) Harbin, 11 grandchildren: Jason, Jaymes, Jessica, Jacob Sali, Mitchell, Nicholas, Alexa Burlingame, Jacquelyn, Elizabeth, Christina, and Marilyn Harbin and his sister Marie Goodhall. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dennis and grandson Christopher.

Memorial contibutions in honor of Jack may be given to the Drew Foundation (Discovering Recreation & Exploring Wildlife Inc.) at www.drew-foundation.org.

We are so sorry for your loss. We spent many winters with Jack and Sharon in Alabama. We cherish these memories and hope you will all cherish those special memories with Jack.
