Clifford B. Stanhope, age 84, of Stanton, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Laurels of Carson City.

Clifford was born in Flint on August 11, 1933, the son of William and Ruby (Bower) Stanhope.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was a people person who loved to talk with everyone.  For many years he was a produce vendor, and would visit with people as he delivered their produce.  He also loved to visit with people at the First Baptist Church in Stanton, where he attended with his wife, Donna.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna; his children, Bill (Jan) Stanhope of Owosso, Debbie (Lock) Clifford of Grapevine,TX, and Sally (Ken) Hanks of Upland, CA; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and his step children, Doug (Marcia) Beardsley of Colombia, TN, and Carol (Randy) Current of Sabina, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Janet.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at the First Baptist Church in Stanton, with Pastor Shane Vande Vrede officiating.  Visitation will be from Noon until the start of the service.  There will be a luncheon following.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Stanton.
