Robert James Carr

Robert J. Carr, age 67, of Sidney, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at his home.

Robert was born November 10, 1949, in Alma, the son of Ruth Randall.  He married Mary Louise Musser, and together raised their two children.  He worked at Marsh Monument in Owosso before working for Electrolux, retiring after working as a welder for over 25 years.  He loved playing cards and talking with people.  Working as a Senior Companion at Metron gave him the opportunity to do this every day.  He was named Senior Companion of the year three years ago.  He also enjoyed classic cars and oldies music.  But he truly loved his grandchildren, passing his knowledge about cars onto his grandsons, and listening to his granddaughters sing and enjoying their art work.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Tanya (Jeremy) Ludwig of Wayland and Burl (April) Carr of Rockford; his grandchildren, Brittany, Codey, Elizabeth, and Devon; and his sister, Val (Charlie) Plath, of Sheridan.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Randall.

Funeral services will be 1p.m. Saturday, September 16, at the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  Visitation will be from 11am until the time of the service. Condolences may be left for the family online at

My condolences to the Carr family, the bible describes a God of comfort, "who comforts us in our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God." ( 2 Corinthians 1:3,4) May God comfort you during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear about Jim. Our thoughts and prayers go out to entire family. Jim was fellow co-worker from electrolux and made working fun!
And years ago Rick bought an old truck"Brown Sugar" is what Jim always called it; even when we seen each other years later. Rick still has "Brown Sugar". Jim was a very kind man and will be deeply missed by all.
