Ila L. Hunt

Ila L. Hunt, age 88 of Ithaca passed away July 4, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alma.

She was born March 5, 1929 in Muskegon, Michigan to Earl and Alice (Keen) Bunnell. She grew up in Muskegon, Pentwater, and Hesperia. She married the love of her life Leslie G. Hunt on July 26, 1947.

Ila is survived by five sons and four daughters, Robert and friend Loretta of Burton, Dale and Allison of Albion, Leslie (Doc) and Janie of St. Louis, Earl and Teresa of St. Louis, and Steven of Ithaca; Ruth and Russel Halstead of St. Louis, Susan and James Ebright of Ithaca, Patricia and Larry Woodbury of DeWitt, and Evelyn and Michael O’Brien of Ludington; two sisters Doris and Bob Rollins and Ruth Tobin; one brother Earl and Dorine Bunnell; 27 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ila will be held at noon on July 7, 2017 at the Ithaca Baptist Church. Pastor Phil Maxwell will officiate and burial will follow at North Star Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10:30 - noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca Baptist Church.

I am so sorry for your loss of Ila. My heart goes out to the family. Death, despite it being a common occurrence, is something we just cannot get used to. In fact, God's Word refers to death as an enemy in 1 Corinthians 15:26. It is comforting to know that very soon our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah, will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on earth. I wish the very best for your family at this time, take care of each other.
