Alice “Marlene” McClary

Alice Marlene McClary, age 85, of Ithaca, formerly of Muskegon, died Sunday evening, July 2, 2017, at Rosewood AFC in Ithaca.

Marlene was born May 6, 1932 in Muskegon, the daughter of Fred and Marie (Reeves) McClary.  She resided in Muskegon for 66 years, then moved to Ithaca in 1998.

Marlene was a member of the Ithaca Baptist Church, and was very active at the Ithaca Senior Center where she enjoyed several daily activities with her friends.

Marlene enjoyed putting puzzles together, solving word search puzzles, watching her beloved Tigers baseball games on T.V. and embroidering several beautiful pillowcases and tablecloths over the years for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Marie McClary.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Jo Jones officiating and Linda St. Charles assisting.  Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Muskegon, Michigan.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca Senior Activity Building or to the Ithaca Baptist Church.

I am sorry for your loss of Marlene. May you find comfort in the promise recorded for us at Isaiah 25:8 where it says "He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." Until that time, draw strength from God, family and friends. Take care.
