Eldon went to his heavenly home on February 10, 2017 He was born November 6, 1936 in Stanton, the son of Clarence & Linda (Ellen) Rohn. He served in the US Army from 1960-1962 and retired from Frigidaire in Greenville in 1998 after 40 years. He was a member of Trinity Free Church in Stanton. He loved life and having fun and always said “Life’s not worth living if you can’t have a little fun”. He loved his family very much & enjoyed spending time with them more than anything. He also had a great love for all kids, loved country & gospel music and enjoyed going to the jams. Another love was camping which he did for many years. He was married on June 8, 1963 to Janet (Jan) McComber to whom he has been married for 53 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; his children Rick (Debi) Rohn of Sheridan and Cindy (Mike) Bracey of Greenville; his Grandchildren Monique (Mike) Kinsley, Mackenzie Bracey, Jacob Bracey, Nick Woodard, Joe (Debra) Woodard, & Tyler Rohn; his Great Grandchildren Trenton Woodard, Elizabeth Rohn, & Scarlett Kinsley; his Brothers Stanley (Esther) Rohn, Dannie (Deb) Rohn, Reese (Patty) Rohn; his Sisters Opal (Al) Fugitt, Jean Cavanaugh; his sister-in-law Ruby Rohn; and his mother-in-law Myrtle McComber and brother-in-law Glenn McComber; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Lillian (Snook’s) McKeown; and his brothers Ivan, Marvin (sister-in-law Vicki ) & Ervin.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February15 at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Stanton with Pastor Mark Edwards and Pastor Robert Guilford officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, at the Barden Funeral home in Stanton. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Free Church.
