A.J. (Alice June) Husted of Crystal, Michigan, age 82, departed this world on Oct 23, 2016.

A.J. was the eighth child of ten born to Charles D. and Beulah J. (Devereaux) Welch.

She married on July 17th, 1951 to Francis C. Husted.  Returning to high-school, as their daughter started kindergarten, A.J. graduated from Fulton High School.  She then continued her education at Central Michigan University and graduated with a degree in education.

She inspired students to learn, to love learning, and to try new things.  After teaching over 33 years, she retired to new adventures.  She loved to dance, quilt, knit, travel and to show love to her family and friends. Age had slowed her down but she still cared about her friends, especially her very good neighbors Bob and Kerin, steadfast friends Tootsie, Kathryn, and Doreen who all blessed her life.  After watching her grandchildren grow up, she was pleased to see the next generation come along.

She is survived by her daughter Tammy (Terry) Prichard, three grandchildren, Nellana (Jeremy) Cook, Bennett (Diana) Prichard and Darcie (Scott) Schueller.  Also, she had eight great-grandchildren Ericka, Natalie, Ella, Delaina, Jamison, Remington, Donnivon, and Kerrigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, all nine siblings, her husband Francis and her special friend Stan.

Services will be on Saturday, Oct 29th at 11 a.m. at Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca, with Pastor Larry Mepham officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in A.J.’s name.
