Grace Elaine (Gross) Myers, 65 of Ithaca went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at MidMichigan Gratiot. Grace was recently diagnosed with cancer and put up a courageous and valiant fight. 

Grace was born on May 6, 1949 in Alma, MI to Kenneth and Naomi (White) Gross. Grace was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Grace was a life-long resident of Ithaca. Grace worked at Wolverine in Ithaca for several years with her family, but eventually found her calling as a Nurse Aide. Grace worked for several years as a Nurse Aide at Masonic Home and Pine River Healthcare Center. Grace had a healthy sense of humor and there was never a dull moment when she was around. Grace’s greatest love were her grandchildren. Grace enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. Grace loved to tell stories of their accomplishments and there was never a time when she spoke of them that she did not have a twinkle in her eye or a smile on her face.

Grace is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Myers of Ithaca and Kristy (Jorge) Claudio of North Star; grandchildren, MaKenzie Rodriguez and Adrianna Rodriguez of Ithaca, Kenneth Rodriguez, Ethan Claudio and Alex Claudio of North Star; siblings, Larry (Kerry) Gross of Clarkston, Bud (Evangeline) Gross of Henderson, Nevada and Barb (Gary) Jones of Ithaca; nieces and nephew, Kelly (Scott) Hipolite of Ithaca, Kerry (Judd) Anderson of Vestaburg, Michael (Melissa) Gross of Davison, Regina (Serge) Golenkov of Nevada, Renee (Tom) Ayres of Nevada; aunts, Nancy Wood of Pompeii and Doris Jean (Gerald) Browne of Ithaca; three great-nieces, Haden Gross, Addyson Anderson, Sasha Golenkov; three great-nephews, Brandon Hipolite, Rocco Ayres and Mickey Ayres; and several cousins and close friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson; Adam Rodriguez and her beloved dogs Pepe and Petey.

A celebration of Grace’s life is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. with funeral immediately following. A small luncheon at First Presbyterian Church will immediately follow the funeral service. Nancy Wood will officiate the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Grace’s life. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the family. The family would like to thank MidMichigan Gratiot Cancer Center, MidMichigan Gratiot Radiology Oncology, MidMichigan Gratiot nursing staff, MidMichigan Hospice and Great Lakes Surgical Associates for all their care and efforts during Grace’s journey.
